£18-20 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Safeguarding Officer to join a busy and dedicated student support team on a temporary agency basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference to the wellbeing, safety, and success of students within a further education setting.

• Act as a first point of contact for safeguarding concerns.
• Support the management of safeguarding referrals and casework.
• Work closely with curriculum staff, external agencies, and support services.
• Maintain accurate safeguarding records and documentation.
• Contribute to safeguarding awareness and promote a culture of learner welfare.
• Support students facing barriers that may impact their wellbeing, attendance, or achievement.
• Ensure safeguarding practices comply with current legislation and college policies.

Must have:

• Previous safeguarding experience within education, youth work, social care, or a related setting.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
• Experience managing sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Hold a DBS on the update service.
